Planet Korul
Castle of Deluge Inference
In the ‘Chamber of Secrets’

“My father…?” asked the alien, craning his neck to get a better look at the Korulian’s face. It was hard to deny that the fire-lit features matched those of his own.

When young, there had always been the question of who and where his parents were. Rixil’s interest in his origins had died some years ago, as he became consumed by his studies of Earth and Epoch. Without anything to remind him of such trivial matters of the past, he had accepted his mentor and the queen as his maternal figures.

Now, he was faced with the possibility that his father was alive… and leading Ceous-Ideux-Riomet, the group destined to destroy the planet.

The unhooded member at the head of the assembly began to speak, tenor voice filling the room with Korulian tongue. Turning slightly to Epoch, Rixil translated the leader’s words. Though the native words were much louder than the English ones that followed, the effect was similar to that of an echo- tone between the two voices very similar.

“The time has finally come; the hour of the sacred star's demise. With its hold over the old Gods broken, we, Ceous-Ideux-Riomet, may harness their power! The world will be reshaped in the image that we see fit . Corruption and tyranny will no longer exist! Through these means, I, Tarox, shall be reborn as your new god- a tangible, relevant new deity to oversee this dystopia's transformation!”

Epoch listened to both voices. The one who called himself Tarox seemed more eloquent than the English counterpart dictated by Rixil. Rixil nearly choked on the last words. Uncertain whether Rixil was upset or moved, Epoch said, "This is it. Your father or not, we've got to stop this Tarox guy. Don't we?"

Still in awe of the possibility of the Korulian below being his father, Rixil found himself at a loss for words. He shook the feeling away though, knowing Epoch’s comments to be true. This was his opportunity to not only prove his worth, but also to stop the prophecy dooming his planet. For years, he had riddled with the versus of said prediction, and soon the puzzle would be complete.

There was no hesitation in the reptile with this decision made. Focusing on the small bit of light surrounding the duo, he made to create the only weapons he was truly adept with: daggers.

In an instant, photons of the fire’s faded light swirled into Rixil’s right palm, coagulating to form a coppery colored dagger. With familiar blade in hand, the Korulian once again felt at peace, and in control of the situation. “It has been a while since I’ve gotten to use my knife expertise… at the very least, this fight will be interesting.” He chuckled inwardly, wondering why he had been worried in the first place.

“The easiest way to get down would to teleport, I presume.” Murmered Rixil as he scoured the darkness for a destination point. To the right of the altar was an ornate set of stones where water was pooled. “Surely that will conceal our noise and position.” Reasoned the reptilian being to himself.

“Over there, by the water; that would be most favorable.” He motioned to the spot, dark eyes fixed on the shadows casted behind the fountain. His left hand fell softly to rest on top of Epoch’s as his gaze was turned towards the human expectantly. “Shall we?”

Epoch swallowed a mouthful of anxious saliva. He looked as Rixil created more impressive constructs. Daggers should pose to a good threat, and Epoch knew that his energy blasts should easily do the trick. Hopefully he would not need to get lethal with the reptiles. He grabbed Rixil's hand, "Let's try not to kill anyone, all right?" He asked rhetorically, "Hold on tight!"

Epoch appeared down on the floor, behind the group of thirty Korulians. Thirty-one counting Tarox, who had once again turned to the statue. Luckily, teleportation was relatively silent, and no one had noticed yet. Epoch let go of Rixil and whispered, "Good Luck."

With haste, Epoch took aim at the backs of five of the nearest hooded reptiles.

Only two! Sure, I'll make it look like I meant for two. The energy blasts went sailing into the crowd, knocking two of the monk-like enemies flat on their faces. Tarox remained stationary, however, the rest of the hooded Korulians spun around. Epoch's eye's grew large, he might be bombarded within seconds.

Luckily, and to Epoch's surprise, the reptiles had a sense of honor and struck out at him strategically. One of the members face down on the floor got up, and rushed Epoch. He opened his mouth and a small flame sparked to life.

Epoch disappeared and reappeared behind the fire breather. With a sharp jab of his elbow, Epoch drove a blow into the Korulian's neck. It cried out as it slumped on the floor. Epoch knew that it was just enough to render a human unconscious, and hopefully that's all it would do to the reptile. The few around him muttered something indiscernible in Korulian.

A few punches missed and a few punches blocked, Epoch had encountered his next foe. Green energy glowed from the enemies sleeves.

The large blue burst of energy went sailing toward the Korulian who tried eagerly to back step from oncoming ball. It struck the lizard with ferocity, tattering his robes and heating his flesh. It surged but did not rip him apart. Rather, it sent the reptile soaring over the crowd, smashing into one of the pillars that held up the encircling balcony. With an explosive crash, the Korulian hit the pillar and stone cracked and shattered. Simultaneously, the lizard and stone fell to the polished floor.

"Two down," Epoch muttered.

The teleportation was more disorienting, but less nauseating then the time traveling. Instead of the process speeding up and slowing down time, it was suddenly over and done; The two heroes jumping from the terrace to the spot where Epoch had been aiming.

Before he could even regain his positional composure, two energy blasts connect with a couple of the Korulians in the crowd. It might have pained Rixil to watch, had he been more empathetic towards his people… but beyond his mentor and the Queen, the only thing he truly cared about was the mission.

Dashing out from the fountain, Rixil circled behind the members further from the altar, sticking to the shadows to compensate for his lack of invisibility. They didn’t seem to pay him mind as their focus was turned towards the human throwing balls of blue at their backs. Fire suddenly illuminated where he had just been, and Rixil couldn’t help by look towards Epoch to see if he was alright. Relieved to see that his partner had teleported out of the way, Rixil decided to turn the flames’ light into an opportunity; or rather, more daggers.

Three knifes materialized out of the photons, two of them stretching out lengthwise from his sides and the other taking front point. The daggers cut through the air as Rixil continued to run through the darkness.

Smiling at his success, the young Korulian prepared to dive into the drove of his enemies. Nimbly, he jumped out from the shadows, urging more speed from his feet. “If I don’t miss a step, they shall crumple before my moves.” He convinced himself. “Let the dance begin.”

And with that, he shot forward. One of the shadowy members of the cult must have sensed him coming though, as a figure whipped itself around with arms spread out wide. Sparks jumped between the Korulian’s finger tips as the Rixil rushed forward.

Purple arcs of electricity filled the alien’s palms, illuminating the immediate darkness.

The brightness revealed the aged Korulian’s cold, calculating eyes and sharp white teeth. Both became even more menacing as the energized appendages swung forward to meet Rixil as he approached.

Rixil dodged the shock by mere inches as he tumbled towards the energy’s origin. With the gap between them closed, he reached out with the dagger in his right hand and sliced a deep notch into the other Korulian’s wrist.

The figure hissed in pain, lightning falling from his hands into nothingness as he clutched at the fresh cut. With that opponent officially distracted, the younger Korulian turned to continue into the crowd.

Agilely ducking between the cloaked figures and spinning around where they stood, Rixil let his daggers do the work. He had practiced this technique in the courtyard, but here it was different. The sharp edges of the constructs floating around him sliced through the adversaries with ease as they whipped around at speeds unimaginable. He himself didn’t feel much different as he moved, though his weight seemed to disappear as he glided effortlessly about. Confused, the reptilian being looked around him for some clue. The difference became apparent immediately. Time seemed to pass in slow motion as he swerved and twirled through the cluster of CIR members, leaving them almost static as his blades cut through their robes and flesh.

It was as if the Universe had decided to selectively watch the Korulian as he theatrically treaded where no one else could go. Even Epoch seemed to be cast out of the reverie.

Glancing down at his arm, Rixil caught the glowing of the light rune etched there. “My magic is undoubtedly the cause of this.” He reasoned quickly, continuing to dash from one target to the next.

Epoch had glanced over to see how Rixil was doing. He noticed that his companion had generated even more blades, floating. With ease, Rixil seemed to debilitate his foe. Epoch began to smirk when Rixil suddenly disappeared. The first opponent dropped, bleeding profusely. Then, with rapid succession, seven other cloaked Korulians fell to the floor. Epoch's jaw dropped as Rixil reappeared. What the hell was that?!

Before Epoch could even consider to comprehend what he had seen, he took a swift punch to the jaw. He rubbed it and jumped backward. A toothy Korulian cackled and started a chant.

Epoch had had enough, the glowing enemy had failed again, and he knew it. This lizard's luck was beginning to mirror Epoch's. Epoch steadied his hands and prepared for a big blast.

The blast shot off with an excitable release. Epoch was beginning to get worried. It was too early in the fight to fizzle out. Flying at a great speed, the energy crashed into the crooked toothed monster. It drove downward slightly, wiping the lizard across the polished floor. When the blast would have burst, it instead shrank and faded. Good, Epoch thought, just what I wanted, one more down and he isn't dead.

[b]Planet Korul
Castle of Deluge Inference
In the ‘Chamber of Secrets’
19/30 [b]

Time swirled back to its regular state of existence, appearing slow for a moment in contrast to how it had been moments ago. Stealing a glance behind him, Rixil noted a handful of his hapless victims littering the floor. It both pained him and thrilled him to see the destruction… but before he could fixate upon either emotion, one of the Korulians who was still standing started to rush towards him in a rage.

As the lithe figure fast approached, an aura seemed to radiate from its form, stardust flying from her flapping cloak. Soon, the entire being seemed to be comprised of stars, it’s eyes and claws like shimmering diamonds in the darkness.

In a flurry, the figure made the final distance between her and Rixil disappear, a leg reaching out from the star-crusted competitor, about to be delivered to the blonde’s face.

The reptile shot his arm out, knocking the kick away, only to be met by the second leg. Though thin, it made contact near the collar of his neck before threatening to twist and hit his head. Before it could raked the orifices on his neck, Rixil whipped himself down and leftward, daggers outstretched as he did so. Blades bore into the enemy’s calf, and a screech escaped the cosmic Korulian’s lips.

Wincing at the pain near his shoulder, Rixil took the opportunity to toss the foe’s weight off of him before jumping back to regain orientation.

“If I can speed myself up, I won’t have to deal with hits like that.” Thought the adolescent to himself, stealing a glance at Epoch’s successful shot of blue energy. “I wonder if I can make it happen again.”

Rixil attempts to use light speed. 1-8 dictates a failure whilst 9-10 is a success.

Epoch had no time to aide Rixil. He now faced a new foe. This enemy was fat.

The fat Korulian seemed to laugh as he ran at Epoch.
